Not all dogs are meant to be pets, that is where we come in, we are a registered 501c3 Non-Profit, we also hold our shelter license in the state of Georgia. This enable us to bring dogs from any shelter, rescue or unfortunate situation a dog finds themselves in. We bring them to our 44 acre facitlity in Carrollton, Georgia and evaluate what their ideal life would be. From there, we either provide training that they will thrive in, or we find an appropriate, rigorously vetted home, where they will be the happiest.
Not all departments have large budgets, and trained police dogs can cost a minimum of $30,000. Hurricane Creek K9 Foundation provides dogs to these departments free of charge, while giving shelter and rescue dogs a second chance to shine.
These trained rescue dogs are highly effective and provide many departments with greatly expanded capabilities.
Sometimes humans, just like our Rescue to Resource Dog, need a new skill. This program helps Veterans and First Responders to learn to be a K9 Handler or Trainer.
Learning to be a K9 Handler or Trainer enables these amazing men and women, to carry this skill forward to start their own business, providing needed resources in their own communities.
